Oroville Hospital has received recognition from U.S. News for its commitment to quality care. Named a Best Regional Hospital in the Northern Sierras, Oroville Hospital is also ranked number 28 of the approximately 420 hospitals in California.
This achievement places Oroville Hospital among the ranks of highly respected medical institutions such as UCSF Medical Center, UCLA Medical Center, Stanford Health Care and Loma Linda University Medical Center. Oroville Hospital is the only medical center north of the Sacramento/Roseville area listed as one of the top 50 hospitals in California.
“This ranking is a testament to the high quality care provided daily by the staff at Oroville Hospital,” said Robert J. Wentz, President and Chief Executive Officer. “Our commitment to using advanced technology and having the best physicians, nurses and support services staff members have helped make us the leading health care provider north of Sacramento.”
U.S. News rankings for 2017-18 are determined based on inpatient treatment data reported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services from 2013 to 2015, and information provided by the American Hospital Association and other professional organizations. Eligible hospitals are evaluated based on quality, safety and treatment outcomes for a variety of procedures, conditions and specialties including cancer, cardiology, GI surgery and hip replacement.
“We are constantly evaluating ways in which we can enhance the medical services provided by Oroville Hospital,” Wentz says. “With our upcoming expansion I am confident that we will continue to grow as a leading health system, offering state-of-the-art technology, quality care and highly sought after treatments and procedures.”
Oroville Hospital was also recognized as high performing in four different specialties: gastroenterology and GI surgery, geriatrics, nephrology, pulmonology; and one condition: heart failure. Facilities that earn high performing designations for specific specialties, procedures and conditions from U.S. News have better patient outcomes and safety measures than the majority of hospitals nationally. Patients receiving care at Oroville Hospital can heal and recover quickly knowing that the highest attention to detail is being given by their medical team.
