Oroville Hospital is excited to announce the arrival of Pamela D. Simons, MD, MBA. She brings almost 20 years of experience and will be joining Karl Johansson, MD, Matthew Bazzani, MD, and Peter Bippart, MD. Her office is located at 2721 Olive Highway in Suite 4. She will be moving to a newly remodeled office at 2809 Olive Highway in Suite 310 in August. She is eager to be part of the community and to have the ability to provide women with obstetric and gynecologic services in Oroville.
Dr. Simons’ practice provides a broad range of services for women including routine annual care, pregnancy and childbirth, and specialized surgery. Her particular interests include adolescent gynecology and the emotional/psychological aspects of obstetrics and gynecology, including postpartum depression and pelvic pain.
Helping women has always been important to Dr. Simons, “I have never lost the awe that I have been entrusted with such an enormous privilege and responsibility in touching the lives of the women I care for. Each of my patients is a unique individual and I try to tailor the healthcare I provide to each woman’s specific circumstances.”
Dr. Simons is board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is a graduate of Albany Medical College and trained at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center before completing her residency at the University of California Davis Medical Center.
Prior to becoming an obstetrician-gynecologist, Dr. Simons’ first career was in health care management. After earning both her undergraduate degree and an MBA from Cornell University, Dr. Simons held various positions in the industry, including hospital administration, management consulting and comprehensive health planning. This background experience motivated her to specialize in caring for women.
“Having an opportunity to work with experienced and highly respected physicians is why I chose to come to Oroville Hospital. I wanted to be part of a multi-disciplinary team and be able to provide a female’s perspective. Here, patients receive the best care possible because the whole team is on board,” says Dr. Simons.
