Clinical Training Sites

Oroville Hospital:
Oroville Hospital is a private, non-profit corporation that has proudly served its community since 1962 and prides itself on providing the highest quality medical care. They are continually renovating and expanding their approaches and improving healthcare quality.  An excellent team of dedicated doctors supports them in 153-bed acute care, specializing in a broad range of inpatient and outpatient services.  Oroville Hospital serves its community by providing high-quality healthcare, but it also develops academic programs to help provide hands-on learning experiences for the next generation of medical providers. Residents will participate in patient care with exposure to psychiatric emergencies during their first year of training by working for the Oroville Hospital Emergency Department. They will experience hands-on learning of all neurology topics.  

Oroville Neuropsychiatric Outpatient Clinic:
Oroville Hospital provides its patients with numerous outpatient clinics, including Neurology care. It is located at Feather River Boulevard and offers resources and care for all mental health needs. They brand themselves in connecting with their patients with essential mental health care services they need in a safe and welcoming environment. The outpatient clinic comprises an extensive team of licensed counselors; we can provide our patients with perinatal counseling, marriage and family counseling, and substance abuse counseling. Residents will spend their third year in an outpatient environment, and this will provide experience to source all of the knowledge they learned the two years prior and will treat a diverse of patients from a variety of mental illness issues, ethnicities or races, or a wide range of ages. 

Oroville Hospital Post-Acute Center:
Oroville Hospital Acute Center provides patients with resources for their treatment to help them achieve their highest capabilities and return home as soon as possible. Their team of skilled nurses treats a wide range of patients of different health statuses, from recent discharge from a hospital to medically fragile. Their goal is to provide assistance and care to patients in the recuperation process to their most excellent capabilities to return to their homes and loved ones. Nurses are available 24 hours a day and offer care of therapists, dietitians, and case managers as part of their treatment. They also provide social services that benefit patients and their families facing transition periods by giving information, concern management, and assistance in planning and managing discharge and care for each patient. The Acute Center also organizes activities and events where the patients can enjoy social interaction and mental engagement. Residents will spend their fourth year of training working alongside the Acute Center and all treatment teams to provide a well-coordinated treatment for their patients and record their progress.
