Respiratory Care
Oroville Hospital Offers Full Service Respiratory Care
Respiratory care is an important part of your medical care. Oroville Hospital is home to Registered Respiratory Care Practioners (RCP) who, under the direction of Oroville physicians, are responsible for the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of breathing disorders. Our RCPs manage sophisticated breathing machines and respiratory equipment to provide high quality patient care. They also process Outpatient Arterial Blood Gas tests for qualifying for home oxygen use.
Respiratory Care Practioners are an essential part of the Oroville team which helps patients with respiratory disorders such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, and emphysema. RCPs also respond to life-threatening emergencies in hospitalized patients, and assist patients who are experiencing breathing difficulties as a result of major illnesses, such as heart attack, stroke, or massive infection.
The respiratory care team provides dedicated inpatient care and efficient outpatient care. Matthew Fine, MD, is the Medical Director for Respiratory Care and is board certified in Internal Medicine and a pulmonary specialist. Under the supervision of Dr. Fine, the highly trained team of respiratory care practitioners provides all respiratory care from outpatient testing to emergency and critical care.
The respiratory care team at Oroville Hospital is committed to the proactive care of short term and long term respiratory illness.
A referral is needed for outpatient respiratory testing, so if you have any questions about your respiratory care, or any of our classes, please contact Cardiopulmonary at Oroville Hospital by calling 530-532-8308.
