Cornelia Brattan is an occupational therapist at Golden Valley Outpatient Rehabilitation Center with training in Myofascial Release, Cranio-Sacral Therapy for adults and children, California Advanced credentials in hand therapy, and use of Physical Agent Modalities. She received her training in Occupational Therapy at Ergotherapie Schule in Zurich, Switzerland and has practiced since 1983. She typically treats patients with a variety of conditions, such as:
- Neurological: Stoke, Parkinsonism, Cerebral Palsy, and Head Injury
- Orthopedic: particularly hand injuries
- Pain Conditions: Headaches, Fibromyalgia
- Pediatric Orthopedic and Neurologic conditions
- General functional decline due to osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and aging
Even with decades of experience, Cornelia can still be surprised by patients diagnosed with conditions she has never treated before. These interactions keep her work interesting and provide her with ample opportunity to learn, teach, and heal. Occupational Therapy has always kept her engaged and excited in her work, particularly in the outpatient setting where she is able to accompany patients on their journey to better health and living. She approaches all her patients with compassion, ready to offer up knowledge and strategies to improve their situation, and realistic outcome expectations.
