Job Summary
The Biller/Scheduler will receive the daily routes and vehicle assignments. The dispatcher will confirm that all daily scheduled drivers have checked in and are running on time. Reviews and understands the needs of the clients as per each driver’s schedule/route. May assist lead in billing duties, as needed.
Duties
- Facilitates the plans for the correct equipment, correct scheduling of drivers, actively monitors driving staff to maintain on-time quotations, ensures safety protocols and high standards of comfort
- Facilitates clear and complete information between clients, drivers, dispatch department and on to the billing department to engage the billing process
- Receives and responds to non-emergency calls from the hospital, assisted living facilities, family and friends of the client and Adult & Child service entities, County Mental Health, County Public Guardian, Dialysis Clinics, Medical Clinics and Labs.
- Monitors and coordinates driver unit activity and assigns cell phone, text messaging and group talk.
- Maintains status and locations of personnel.
- Utilizes technology such as computers, telephones, fax machines and other communication equipment
- Creates and maintains automated or manual logs of communications activity
- Maintains appropriate security and confidentiality of information created or encountered in the performance of assigned duties
- Keeps informed of departmental regulations, policies and procedures
- May cover drives as needed
- May take sick calls and modify schedule accordingly, after hours
- Works with lead biller to assist with billing process, as needed

Lifting Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; bend; carry; operate hand truck; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and distance vision.
