Qualifications: 

• Minimum of three (3) years prior clinical experience in a hospital setting
• Must hold a current American Heart Association (AHA) Provider card in one of the following, BLS/AED, ACLS, or PALS
• Must be able to operate a typewriter, adding machine and computer

Job Summary

The Educator assists the Director Educational Services with the instruction and education of ACLS, PALS, BLS and other hospital educational classes/functions.

Duties

• Provides instruction/education in at least one discipline: ACLS, PALS, or BLS
• Ensures all AHA courses are taught in agreement with AHA science, curriculum, policies, procedures and mission
• Demonstrates effective problem identification, problem solving and priority setting skills
• Performs other duties as assigned

Lifting Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel objects. The employee is frequently required to walk or stand for extended periods, occasionally required to sit, balance; stoop, kneel or crouch.

Generally lifting objects not more than 25 lbs. and/or carrying objects weighing 10 lbs.The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with help.
