Job Summary

The IR/Cath Supervisor will work directly with the Directors of Interventional Services and Imaging in the development and supervision of the technical staff. This will include enhancing technical skills, clinical knowledge, inter personal skills and upholding professional performance standards of the technical staff.  IR/Cath Supervisor will work in collaboration with the Nursing Supervisors to ensure smooth patient flow during shift and will ensure proper technical staffing of the unit.

  • Provides  supervision and training of technical staff
  • Monitors, evaluates, and corrects staff performance to promote excellent care environment
  • Mentors staff and promotes a positive team environment
  • Ensures technical  staffing for unit
  • Collaborates with RN supervisors to facilitate efficient daily patient flow
  • Stewards hospital resources responsibly
  • Trains and supervises staff to ensure that patient billing is accurate and timely. Monitors staff for accuracy of input of procedures charges, patient equipment charges, CPT and ICD 10 codes.
  • Monitors and directs staff as needed to ensure that all procedure areas are clean, sanitary and safe on a daily basis. Ensures all equipment and instruments are in proper working condition by inspecting equipment on a daily basis before and after procedures
  • Works with IT to ensure equipment pertaining to IR and Cath lab is maintained and/or repaired.
  • Ensures effective communication with Physicians and Staff
  • Works with Physicians and staff to ensure all necessary instruments and equipment are on hand for procedures.
  • Addresses Physician concerns in areas of responsibility
  • Addresses IR/Cath Lab Technologist concerns in areas of responsibility
  • Assists Director in the development and revision of policies and procedures related to radiography to ensure continuous process improvement
  • Supervises training and orienting of new employees on  equipment
  • Supervises inventory ordering  and re-stocking of supplies
  • Complies with HIPAA policies and standards in regards to patient confidentiality
  • Performs other duties as assigned

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to handle or feel objects, or controls; each with hands and arms; and talk to hear. The employee is frequently required to walk or stand for extended periods, occasionally required to sit, balance; stoop, kneel or crouch.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with help.
