• Current American Heart Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Job Summary

The ERT provides support to the nursing staff of the ESD to expedite care of patients of all ages. The tech also provides courier service and transportation of patients to and from other departments. This is a task oriented position that allows the RN maximum time for direct patient care.

Duties

• In addition to the regular duties of the Emergency Services Technician;

• Reconcile the time cards
• All training of new personnel
• Competency of personnel
• Scheduling of personnel
• Assisting the directors with evaluations
• Orientation of new personnel, including the skills check list
• Teaching other techs the policy and procedure of maintaining the disaster cart: weekly supply checks-(also delegating this to others), Restocking procedures (delegate), Accuracy of the current supply list, Checking for out dates of supplies
• Performs other duties as assigned

Lifting Requirements: Very Heavy- is considered generally lifting objects in excess of 100 lbs. with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing 50 lbs or more.
